GOP Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has called all representatives back to Washington, D.C., as the House is set to return to session in hopes of passing a new funding bill that could put an end to the ongoing government shutdown.

Senate votes 60‑40 to end historic shutdown, bill moves to House

After 41 days, the longest shutdown in government history, the Senate has approved a long-awaited funding package, advancing the legislation to the House of Representatives for final approval.

Sandwich-throwing D.C. man cleared of misdemeanor assault charges
