Bernie Sanders crashes Schumer’s press conference, calls on Dems to prolong govt. shutdown

Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders crashed a press conference scheduled for Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, calling on Senate Democrats to prolong the government shutdown if Republicans do not concede to their Obamacare demands.

President Donald Trump urged Republicans in the Senate to initiate the “nuclear option” and end the filibuster as the government shutdown reaches a full month.

Senate GOP confirms more than 100 Trump nominees

Amid the ongoing government shutdown, Senate Republicans have since confirmed 107 of President Donald Trump’s nominees.

Senate fails to pass CR, Sen. Fetterman only Dem to side with GOP

The Senate has failed to pass a House-approved continuing resolution intended to fund the federal government and avoid a shutdown. While most Senate Democrats voted against the measure due to policy disagreements, one Democrat joined the Republicans in support.
