El Secretario de Defensa de Estados Unidos, Pete Hegseth, anunció que el buque de la Armada Harvey Milk, cambiará su para honrar a Oscar V. Peterson, galardonado con la Medalla de Honor de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, suboficial jefe de la Armada de Estados Unidos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
