Two Americans dead in Donbas region of Ukraine

Two American volunteers in Ukraine died in the countries Donbas region. According to the US State Department, the two Americans were believed to have assisted Ukraine’s military defenses against Russia when they died. The department has offered to provide the victims families consular assistance and keep further details private.

Biden: Gas prices have fallen 38 days in a row

President Biden touted falling gas prices. During a virtual meeting with his economic team Friday, Biden said gas prices have fallen every day this summer for a consecutive 38 days. The average price at the pump topped $5 nationwide in June and according to Biden gas is just under $4 in over 35 states.

Fmr Defense Secy Esper says US needs ‘to do better’

Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper said the US needs to do a better job in approving arms sales to Taiwan. Esper made the remark on Thursday in Taiwan, after recently meeting with Taiwan’s president and also said he would relay the island’s concern to Washington D.C.

US Space Command Chief of Operations speaks out on threat

The Chief of Space Operations of the US Space Force stressed the need for international norms regarding operations beyond our orbit. Gen. John Raymond spoke out on potential threats to the US in space from China. In a speech at the Aspen Security Forum on Tuesday, Raymond said China is growing its space program at a fast pace and has the economy to continue doing so.
