Second earthquake in days reported in New Jersey, parts of NYC

A small earthquake has rocked parts of New Jersey and New York City, making it the second quake felt in the region within days.

Companies are spending record amounts to keep their executives safe in response to rising threats and the killings of two high-profile corporate officials in separate attacks in Manhattan.

New York Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency on Thursday, citing heavy rainfall and a heightened risk of life‑threatening flash flooding across New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and multiple surrounding counties.
