Officials in Australia are locking down specific areas around the country in order to combat the surging number of new COVID-19 cases. On Tuesday, health officials in the state of Victoria reported 64 new virus infections with more than 7,000 active cases around the country.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom believes it “shouldn’t surprise anyone” the state is seeing a spike in COVID-19 cases. During a press briefing Wednesday, Newsom encouraged California residents to continue following CDC guidelines. This includes wearing masks in public as well as practicing social distancing.
