Report: LAPD ends Harris’ police protection

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has reportedly ended former Vice President Kamla Harris’ protection.

American killed in Portugal ‘Elevador da Glória funicular’ derailment identified

A South Carolina woman has been identified as the American among the 16 dead after a tram derailed and slammed into a building in Portugal.

Afghanistan: 6.2 earthquake hits region, as death toll surpasses 2,200

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck Afghanistan, bringing the death toll to 2,205 and leaving at least 3,600 people injured. The latest quake follows two earlier tremors that hit the region on Sunday and Tuesday last week.
