Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba met with President Donald Trump on Friday, as Trump cordially requested that Japan close its $68 billion trade deficit with the United States.

U.S. Faces Retaliation From China As Trade War Sparks Long-Term Growth Potential

China is retaliating against President Trump’s new 10-percent tariffs on Chinese imports by imposing its own tariffs on U.S. goods, including 15 percent on coal and gas, 10 percent on oil, farm equipment, and cars, effective next Monday.

The U.S. Postal Service said it would accept parcels from China and Hong Kong again after a temporary suspension of shipping low-value packages duty-free to the United States.

The Trump administration put in place new tariffs on China on Tuesday in an effort to help stop the flow of Fentanyl coming into America, with Beijing responding by announcing its own tax against U.S. imports.
