Laken Riley Act Approved In House By All Republicans And 48 Democrats

On Tuesday afternoon, the Laken Riley Act was passed by the House of Representatives. It was the first piece of federal legislation approved by the new 119th Congress after the House agreed to its rules for the term.

President-elect Donald Trump put his endorsement behind Mike Johnson for House speaker on Monday after turmoil took place over government funding this month that caused chaos among Republicans and questioned his leadership bid.
