Senate Vote to end govt shutdown fails for 6th time as shutdown enters second week

The U.S. Senate failed for the sixth time to pass a stopgap bill to end the government shutdown on Wednesday, which has now entered its second week.

Both plans to end govt shutdown fail in Senate

Both GOP and Democrat-backed stopgap funding bills have failed to pass in the Senate, resulting in a prolonged government shutdown.

Senate fails to pass funding bills to end shutdown — again

For the second time in 24 hours, Senate Democrats blocked a House-passed stopgap spending bill that would have funded the government and ended the ongoing shutdown.

Senate blocks Stopgap Bill, pushing U.S. toward imminent Govt. shutdown

The Senate failed to pass a stopgap measure in a 55-45 vote, pushing the country toward its first government shutdown in nearly seven years — as funding expires at midnight.
