President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Russia and Ukraine are “immediately” going to begin ceasefire negotiations — following a two hour long phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump Not Surprised By Putin’s Absence From Ukraine Peace Talks, Cites Reason Why

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he wasn’t surprised that Russian President Vladimir Putin chose to skip the peace talks with Ukraine, stating that nothing will happen until he, himself, is there to meet with Putin and Zelensky personally.

Zelensky Agrees To Meet With Putin On Thursday, Urges Trump’s Attendance

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accepted Vladimir Putin’s offer of direct, in-person negotiations after being cautioned by President Donald Trump, with the Ukrainian leader expressing that he would “appreciate” if Trump could attend as well.
