Canada announces plans to recognize ‘State of Palestine’ at September UN General Assembly: ‘No room for delay’

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on Wednesday that Canada plans to officially recognize the State of Palestine in September, following similar announcements from France and the United Kingdom.

Britain PM Starmer: UK will recognize Palestinian State in Sept. if Israel doesn’t agree to ceasefire, commit to peace process

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the United Kingdom will officially recognize the “State of Palestine” at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in late September, unless Israel takes “substantive steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza.”

American Smith fastest in 100 backstroke heats, Ledecky dominates 1,500

World record holder Regan Smith was fastest in the women’s 100 metres backstroke preliminaries at the world championships in Singapore on Monday as the American laid down an early marker in her upcoming battle with Australia’s Kaylee McKeown.
