Cory Booker Staffer Arrested For Gun Possession On Capitol Grounds As Senator Speaks For Over 21 Hours

A lefty staffer working for Democrat New Jersey Senator Cory Booker has been arrested after carrying a gun without a license on U.S. Capitol grounds, at the same time as the senator was holding an over 21-hour “marathon” floor speech, according to AP News.

Trump Nominates Attorney Ed Martin As Top D.C. Federal Prosecutor

President Donald Trump announced that he is nominating attorney Ed Martin, who previously advocated for January 6th defendants, to serve as a permanent U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia (D.C.).

Congress Certifies Trump’s Election Victory

In accordance with the 12th Amendment, a joint session of Congress met to count the Electoral College votes tallied during the 2024 presidential election. At the end of the count, Congress formally announced Donald Trump as the next president of the United States.
