Senate votes 60‑40 to end historic shutdown, bill moves to House

After 41 days, the longest shutdown in government history, the Senate has approved a long-awaited funding package, advancing the legislation to the House of Representatives for final approval.

Senate fails to pass CR, Sen. Fetterman only Dem to side with GOP

The Senate has failed to pass a House-approved continuing resolution intended to fund the federal government and avoid a shutdown. While most Senate Democrats voted against the measure due to policy disagreements, one Democrat joined the Republicans in support.
