Hundreds of rockets fired into Israel as tensions in the area escalate

Hundreds of rockets have been launched into Israel by Palestinians from Gaza as tensions escalate in the area despite a reported ceasefire, while the Israel Defense Forces have struck over 130 sites that belonged to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.

An unofficial ceasefire was implemented on Wednesday morning along the Israel-Gaza border after fighting had escalated the night before due to the death of a jailed Palestinian.
