John Thune Elected New Senate Republican Leader, Replacing Mitch McConnell

GOP Senator John Thune of South Dakota has been elected as Senate majority leader, which means he will replace retiring Senator Mitch McConnell, who has held the top Senate GOP position for the last 18 years.

Republicans Projected To Win House, Earning GOP A Trifecta Of Power

With Trump returning to the White House in January, Republicans are also projected to maintain control of the House of Representatives, essentially giving the GOP complete control of Washington, D.C.
