Both plans to end govt shutdown fail in Senate

Both GOP and Democrat-backed stopgap funding bills have failed to pass in the Senate, resulting in a prolonged government shutdown.

President Donald Trump agreed to meet with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday ahead of the looming government shutdown.
