Eric Adams drops out of New York City mayoral race

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has officially dropped out of the mayoral race, citing relentless media speculation and the Campaign Finance Board’s decision to withhold millions in funds.

Adams said his campaign was focused on giving a voice to the underserved and marginalized, but the mounting roadblocks made it impossible to continue. With less than two months until Election Day, the race to lead New York City now centers on Democrat nominee Zoran Mamdani, Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, and former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

This decision marks a major shake-up in the nation’s largest city, adding another twist to an already turbulent election season.
