Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said the U.S. looks forward to a new trade deal with the U.K., but cautioned Britain over it’s plans for a digital tax.
According to the secretary of U.S. Agriculture, there’s no need for additional aid to American farmers, following the ‘Phase One’ trade deal with China. While speaking at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual convention Monday, Secretary Sonny Perdue said now that Beijing is poised to buy $40 billion worth of agricultural goods, there is no need for more farm aid.
President Trump recently stated that farmers are very happy with his new trade agreement with China as well as the USMCA trade deal. He made the comment in a tweet Thursday, where he also said hopes the thing farmers remember the most is the fact he was able to use “massive incoming tariff money” to assist them during negotiations.
