Report: Iowa GOP Sen. Joni Ernst won’t seek reelection

Iowa GOP Senator Joni Ernst has informed confidantes that she will not seek re-election in 2026. She is expected to make a formal announcement next week, according to multiple incoming reports.

President Donald Trump’s nominee for the role of director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, was voted on by the U.S. Senate to advance her nomination on Monday — clearing the path for a final confirmation vote this week.
