Viral veteran story was false

The story about homeless military veterans being evicted from a New York hotel to make room for migrants was a tale that stoked days of outrage on cable news networks.

New York City is backing off a controversial plan to retrofit public school gymnasiums as emergency migrant shelters — without ruling out their future use.
