Microsoft, OpenAI hit with new lawsuit by authors over AI training

OpenAI and its financial backer Microsoft were sued in Manhattan federal court by a pair of nonfiction authors who say the companies misused their work to train the AI models behind AI-based services.

A group of 11 nonfiction authors have joined a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court that accuses OpenAI and Microsoft of misusing books the authors have written to train their models.
