European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump on Sunday in an attempt to secure a trade deal for the European Union before a 30% blanket tariff on EU imports takes effect.

President Donald Trump announced that the United States will begin imposing blanket reciprocal tariffs on imports from numerous countries who have “significant trade deficits” with the United States, unless they choose to produce within the U.S.

Iran Parliament backs measure to close off the Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s parliament backed a measure on Sunday to close the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime passage that accounted for 20 percent of global petroleum liquid consumption in 2024.This comes after the United States carried out targeted attacks on key nuclear facilities Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan to decimate Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
