Canada Drops 25% Electricity Tariff Following Trump’s Retaliation Threats

Following President Trump’s threats to increase steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada to 50%, Ontario Premier Doug Ford suggested on Tuesday that they are caving, announcing that he reached an agreement with the U.S. commerce secretary to halt the 25% tax on power imports into the U.S.

Trump Imposes Additional 25% Tariff On Canadian Steel And Aluminum In Retaliation For Ontario’s Electricity Tariff

President Donald Trump announced that he has ordered an additional 25% on Canadian steel and aluminum imports Tuesday after the neighboring country charged Americans 25% more for electricity in three border states.

Nasdaq falls over 3% to six-month low on growth concerns

Trump Pauses Tariffs On Canada And Mexico, Pressures For Action On Migrants And Fentanyl

On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed executive actions that pause tariffs for one month on imports that are subject to the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Leavitt Announces Exemption On Tariffs For Auto Imports From Mexico And Canada

As President Donald Trump’s 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada are now in effect, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that Trump has approved a one-month exemption on auto imports.
