President Donald Trump is calling for liberal political donor George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, to be prosecuted under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act — accusing the father and son of supporting violent protests across the country.

In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, President Trump stated: “George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America.”

The federal RICO Act is meant to target organized criminal activity, and has historically been used to prosecute mafia members.

George Soros, 95, originally founded Open Society Foundations (OSF), a grantmaking network funded by the billionaire left-wing “philanthropist,” of which his son, 39-year-old Alex Soros, serves as the chair of the OSF Board of Directors. In June, Alex married 49-year-old Huma Abedin, former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-N.Y.) ex-wife.

According to Breitbart, the foundation has “partially funded” the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). This is the organization that was behind the rally held for Salvadoran illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The rally was held shortly before his detainment on Monday, and the outlet cited grant amounts from 2018 to 2022 totaling approximately $1.6 million.

Open Society Foundations has also funded Human Rights First, which took part in suing the Trump administration on behalf of illegal aliens with deportation orders. The organization received nearly $6.2 million from Soros’ foundation.

The foundation additionally gave $13.7 million to Tides Center, a leftist group that allegedly funneled $30,000 to Desis Rising Up and Moving, a group behind an anti-Israel protest in Bryant Park, New York City.

“We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to “BREATHE,” and be FREE,” Trump continued on his social media. “Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you!”

According to Axios, a spokesperson for the Open Society Foundations dismissed the allegations as “outrageous and false,” emphasizing that the organization “does not support or fund violent protests.”

“We stand for fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, including the rights to free speech and peaceful protest that are hallmarks of any vibrant democracy,” the spokesperson said.
