Police have reported multiple serious injuries after a stolen 18-wheeler crashed into the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) office in Brenham on Friday.

DPS officials stated that Texas Rangers were probing the incident, revealing that the driver deliberately rammed the vehicle into their Brenham office.

The incident was intentional and “done by the suspect who was denied a CDL (Commercial Driver License) yesterday” Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough said.

“He returned today with intent to harm. Continued prayers for the DPS staff, troopers and civilians affected,” Keough said.

At least sixteen people were injured, three people critically. Those who were critically injured were airlifted to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in stable condition.

The driver of the semi-truck is in custody. Local reports suggest he was being chased by law enforcement at the time of the crash.
