Disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been sentenced to 50 months behind bars for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

On Friday, Federal District Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs after a nearly six-hour-long hearing.

He noted that “a substantial sentence must be given to send a message to abusers and victims alike that abuse against women is met with real accountability.”

Additionally, the judge issued Combs a $500,000 fine, the highest possible fine he could order.

Prosecutors argued that Combs should’ve faced more than 11 years behind bars for his crimes. His defense attorneys asked Judge Subramanian to sentence their client to no more than 14 months in jail, including the time he has already served.

During the hearing, Diddy spoke to the court, thanking them for “allowing me the chance to finally speak for myself.”

He stated that the hardest part is “not being able to express how sorry I am for my actions.”

“I want to personally apologize again to Cassie Ventura for any harm or hurt I’ve caused her emotionally or physically,” he said. “I don’t take that lightly.”

Diddy also apologized to his unnamed victim, who went by “Jane” during the trial.

After the sentencing, Judge Subramanian told Combs that “there is light at the end of the tunnel.”

“These letters, all those letters that I saw, show that you have a universe of people who love you,” the judge said. “Let them lift you up now, just like you’ve lifted them up for so many years.”

In July, the “Mo Money Mo Problems” singer was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs was able to evade the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and sex trafficking charges, which could have landed him in prison for the rest of his life.
