Temecula Valley Unified School District, the third school district in the state, has passed a policy that will notify parents if their child identifies as transgender, requests to be called by different pronouns and wants to use a different bathroom. One America’s Stella Escobedo spoke with Jen Wiersma, board member with Temecula Valley Unified about the policy. The views expressed are solely those of Wiersma and not the entirety of the TVUSD school board. The vote on the parental notification policy was passed 3-2.
