Rubio: U.S. is at war with drug trafficking organizations, not Venezuela

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States is not at war with Venezuela, but is instead targeting drug trafficking organizations, following the capture of Nicolas Maduro.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held an end-of-year press conference at the State Department in Washington, D.C. The event was lengthy, lasting over two hours, while covering a wide range of U.S. foreign policy topics under President Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump received an updated briefing on options for potential military operations in Venezuela, including land strikes, as the United States continues to signal imminent war.

Trump admin notifies Congress U.S. is in ‘armed conflict’ with ‘terrorist’ drug cartels following boat airstrikes

The Trump administration formally notified Congress that the United States is now in a “non-international armed conflict” with drug cartels this week, according to a New York Times report.
