New Bipartisan bill: Block pay for Congress members if the U.S. defaults

A bipartisan bill called the “No Pay for Congress During Default or Shutdown Act” has been introduced by Representatives Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.). The bill aims to withhold Congress members’ salaries during a breach of the debt ceiling or a suspension in federal financing.

House votes to pass debt ceiling bill

A bill extending the country’s debt ceiling was approved by the House on Wednesday after days of deliberation among Republican legislators to support the measure.
