Trump signs EO to expedite marijuana rescheduling to Schedule III, stops short of full legalization

President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue and expedite the potential rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III — a major shift in federal drug policy by advancing a process that could lead to federal recognition of the drug’s medicinal qualities.

Trump weighs lowering marijuana’s Federal Classification to reflect reduced danger: ‘We’re looking at it’

President Donald Trump stated that his administration is currently “looking at” reclassifying marijuana to a lower risk category. This comes at a time when many advocates have argued that marijuana helps them manage chronic pain, reduce nausea, ease symptoms of multiple sclerosis, anxiety, and more.
