Biden Chooses Admiral Lisa Franchetti To Become First Woman To Lead U.S. Navy 

On Friday, President Joe Biden nominated Admiral (Adm) Lisa Franchetti to be the Navy’s top officer. If confirmed, she would be the first woman to take on the role of Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and become a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Iran seizes commercial ship in international waters

Iran’s revolutionary guards have forcibly seized a commercial tanker. According to a statement from the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet on Thursday, the commercial ship was said to be allegedly smuggling 900 tons of fuel.

US Navy stops Iran from seizing tankers

The United States Navy announced that it prevented Iranian warships from seizing two oil tankers in international waters near the coast of Oman on Wednesday.
