Last of 4 escaped Mississippi convicts found 20 miles from prison

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones reported that the last of four inmates who escaped from a Mississippi jail was discovered early on Thursday at a residence close to the detention facility.

Emmett Till’s accuser has passed away

According to a coroner’s report, Carolyn Bryant Donham, the White lady who had claimed that Emmett Till had made inappropriate approaches before he was abducted, tortured, and lynched in Mississippi in 1955, has passed away \ while receiving hospice care in Louisiana.

Tornadoes ravage Mississippi leaving at least 23 dead

Extreme weather conditions in southern states led to at least one deadly tornado that tore through parts of Mississippi on Friday night, leaving at least 23 people dead, and dozens injured across the state.
