Many Americans are enjoying an extended weekend thanks to Memorial Day, but the holiday, reflecting on those who died during service in the U.S. military dates back to the 1800’s.

Military bases remove names of Confederate soldiers in an effort to ‘rebrand’

Retired Lieutenant General Tom Bostick, a member of the Naming Commission tasked with renaming Army bases named in honor of Confederate generals, commented on the move, saying, “I wonder what took so long.”

U.S. sending additional $300M in more weapons to Ukraine

American officials said on Tuesday that the United States will be sending about $300 million in additional military aid to Ukraine, including large quantities of artillery shells, howitzers, air-to-surface missiles and ammunition as the spring offensive against Russian forces nears its start.

Two helicopters collide in Alaska killing three soldiers
