Taiwan holds military drills amid tensions with China

Taiwan held military drills amid its heightened tensions with China. Military personnel were seen firing artillery on the islands’ southeastern coast as part of a training exercise on Tuesday. Officials say exercises are being used to test combat readiness.

WH summons Chinese Ambassador to condemn military drills around Taiwan

Biden administration officials called Chinese Ambassador Qin Gang to the White House in order to condemn the nation’s recent military drills near Taiwan. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby talked to the Washington Post on Friday to explain the White House summoned the ambassador to protest China’s “provocative actions.”
