PacifiCorp utility found guilty by Oregon jury for causing disastrous 2020 wildfires

A jury in Oregon found PacifiCorp responsible for causing the devastating fires during Labor Day weekend in 2020, ordering the company to pay tens of millions to 17 homeowners who sued and found the company liable for broader damages.

3 deaths in Iowa building collapse: Lawsuits claim owners didn’t warn residents of deteriorating conditions

A week after Iowa’s century-old building partly collapsed, the bodies of three men were recovered from the scene of the fallen six-story apartment complex, said Davenport’s police chief on Monday.

Sacramento and city’s school district will pay $52M to settle class sex abuse cases

After a teacher’s aide admitted to sexually abusing at least eight elementary school students over ten years ago, Sacramento and the city’s education district will now pay more than $52 million to resolve claims that alleged school officials were negligent.
