New U.S. unemployment applications fall to 1-month low

Fed. Reserve cuts rate another quarter-point

The Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announced on Wednesday that it would lower the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points, a quarter-point cut, to 3.50%–3.75%.

Fed cuts interest rates to lowest level in 3 years

The Federal Reserve cut its benchmark interest rate to its lowest level in three years, lowering the federal funds rate target range by 0.25 percentage point to 3.75%–4.00%.
