May Jobs Report: Mixed Signals For Economy, Inflation, And Fed Rate Decisions

The latest jobs report shows that 272,000 jobs were added in May, while unemployment rose to 4%, and labor force participation remained relatively stable.

Job openings, a measure of labor demand, were down 296,000 to 8.059 million on the last day of April, the lowest level since February 2021.
