Conn. House approves early voting bill

Legislation was passed by the House of Representatives on Thursday that would provide Connecticut voters 14 days to cast early votes in general elections.

CDC director leaves agency

President Joe Biden has announced that the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Rochelle Walensky, 54, will be leaving the agency.

Illinois becomes first state to end book bans

In a vote that divided lawmakers along party lines on Wednesday, Illinois lawmakers have approved a bill that mandates that libraries in the state adopt an anti-book-banning policy in order to receive state money.
