Oregon: Around 45,000 Students Return To Classrooms After Month-Long Teacher Strike

After more than three weeks without classes, the largest school district in Oregon said late on Sunday that it had struck a tentative agreement with its teachers union and that close to 45,000 students will begin attending classes again on Monday.

Sacramento and city’s school district will pay $52M to settle class sex abuse cases

After a teacher’s aide admitted to sexually abusing at least eight elementary school students over ten years ago, Sacramento and the city’s education district will now pay more than $52 million to resolve claims that alleged school officials were negligent.

Lori Lightfoot will teach at Harvard University in the fall

Lori Lightfoot, Chicago’s former mayor, said on Thursday that she will be heading to Boston in the fall to start teaching classes at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Professor who destroyed students’ Pro-Life display fired for holding machete to reporter’s neck

The Hunter College art professor who destroyed a group of students’ pro-life display and went on an expletive rant is now being accused of holding a machete to the neck of a journalist who was reporting on the incident.
