Celtics hold off desperate Mavs, go up 3-0 in Finals

The Boston Celtics, one win away from sweeping the NBA Finals, insist they won’t get overconfident.

Jrue Holiday racked up a team-high 26 points as the Boston Celtics picked up a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Walton, who had a prolonged battle with cancer, was surrounded by his family when he died, the National Basketball Association said.

The Celtics finished off a four-game sweep of the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals with a 105-102 victory.

The victory gave Boston a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, which will shift to Indianapolis for Game 3 on Saturday.

The Indiana Pacers came into Boston and pushed the Celtics to the brink on Tuesday night in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.
