Shohei Ohtani’s former interpreter pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $17 million from the athlete’s bank account to pay off his own gambling debts.

DOJ: Interpreter Ippei Mizuhara Allegedly Stole $16M From Shohei Ohtani

Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani, has been formally charged with bank fraud for allegedly stealing more than $16 million from him, United States Attorney Martin Estrada said during a press briefing.
