SCOTUS Officially Approves Alabama’s Request To Carry Out First Execution By Nitrogen Gas

The Supreme Court has officially allowed the state of Alabama to carry out the first-ever nitrogen gas execution on prisoner Kenneth Smith.

U.N. Urges Alabama to Pause First Nitrogen Gas Execution in U.S.

In arguments that claim the nitrogen gas execution of an Alabama prisoner is an “untested” technique that could expose the prisoner to torture or “cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment,” United Nations officials are raising the alarm over the planned execution.
