Before heading into the New York courtroom on Friday, Trump announced that he would be heading home to Florida to spend the weekend with his wife, celebrating her birthday with the rest of the family.

“I want to start by wishing my wife, Melania, a very happy birthday,” Trump said in brief remarks to the press outside the lower Manhattan courthouse.

“It would be nice to be with her,” Trump said. “But I’m in a courthouse for a rigged trial. It’s a rigged trial — terrible.”

Trump announced that he will begin celebrating with her once court has been dismissed for the day.

“I’ll be going there [Florida] this evening after this case finishes up,” he said, adding, “This horrible, unconstitutional case.”

Melania is turning 54-years-old this year.

The former first lady was born on April 26th, 1970, in Slovenia. While living there, Melania began her highly successful modeling career. She later moved to the United States in 1996 and became a United States Citizen 10 years later.

The couple first met in 1998, fell in love, and decided to tie the knot back in January 2005.

During her husband’s time in office, Melania’s first lady political initiative was called “BE BEST.” BE BEST focused on a number of struggles that children in the U.S. are facing today. The three main pillars of the initiative focused on general well-being, online safety, and opioid abuse.
