Two teenagers convicted of assaulting former DOGE employee Edward Coristine will avoid jail time.
A 15-year old boy and girl, both from Hyattsvfille, Maryland, were sentenced to probation by a D.C. court judge after pleading guilty to simple assault for their part in Coristine’s brutal assault.
The male was handed a 12-month probation and allowed to return home under strict house arrest, while the female was given a nine-month probation and remanded to a local youth shelter.
Coristine, the former DOGE staffer who went by the name “Big Balls,” was left with a concussion, a broken nose and other injuries after he and a friend were jumped by a group of teens back in August.
Speaking in the Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump said the judge should be ashamed of themselves.
While appearing on “The Charlie Kirk Show,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt ripped into the decision to put the two teens behind bars.
“One of the big issues in D.C. is these juveniles, they just get a slap on the wrist,” she stated. “This administration has a completely different philosophy. We need law and order.”
Coristine responded to the sentencing in a post on X, calling for an end to senseless crimes.
