UPDATE: Shots Fired At Kansas City Super Bowl Parade, 1 Dead And At Least 10 Injured

Kansas City police are now responding to shots fired during the Kanas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade.

One person was killed and nine were injured. Meanwhile, three of the injured are in critical condition and five are in serious condition, according to ESPN and ABC News.

On Wednesday, despite a heavy police presence in the area, the Kansas City Fire Department confirmed a shooting occurred at the victory rally. It is being labeled as a “fluid situation.”

At least five people were hospitalized after the shooting.

“There was yelling and we didn’t know if it was safe to leave, so we tried to block the doors. We heard the elevator start to move so we opened the doors and ran out — there were officers there,” she said. “I’ve never been so glad to see an officer in my life,” according to an unnamed woman who spoke with Kansas City ABC affiliate KMBC.

Two armed men have been taken into custody.
