The National Football League has launched an investigation into the Cincinnati Bengals for how they handled their injury report when it came to the health status of quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow left Thursday night’s game with a wrist injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

The star quarterback was not listed on the injury report for Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals social media team posted a video on X, the platform formally known as Twitter, which appeared to show him with a soft cast on his right hand. The account deleted the post later on.

During the Bengals touchdown drive in the second quarter, the broadcast showed Burrow in clear pain after throwing a touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon.

“It looks like he sprained his wrist. Felt it on that touchdown pass,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said after the game.

Cincinnati’s head coach Zac Taylor remained optimistic after the injury and the loss.

“In a long season like this, what you’ve got to do is be able to regroup,” Taylor said. “We’ve done this kind of situation before. We’ve got to rally these last seven weeks. Great opportunity at home against Pittsburgh to get started on that track.

“Don’t get it twisted on what kind of team we have. We have a chance to regroup. All the things that we really want to do are still in front of us. We control our own destiny at this point,” he continued.
