Following the disaster of the first Fyre Festival several years ago, its founder is reportedly relaunching Fyre Festival, having the first set of tickets already allegedly sold out.

The festival’s co-founder Billy McFarland made the announcement on Tuesday.

The first festival in 2017 had ended in disaster which resulted in McFarland being jailed on fraud charges. McFarland was booked on a combined prison term of six years for fraud but ended up serving four years, after scamming customers and investors for over $26 million.

The festival had promised to have an all-star celebrity cast, such as Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, who never showed up, in addition to multiple top musicians such as Migos and Blink 182.

The promised accommodations such as luxurious hotels turned out to be FEMA disaster relief tents and fine dining ended up being plain cheese sandwiches.

According to the site, the new event will be “targeted for the end of 2024 in the Caribbean.”

However, there were no details of the lineup performing and any accommodations the venue will offer to festival goers.

According to the festivals website, the first 100 presale tickets for the new festival went on sale Monday, for $499 a ticket and sold out the same day.

Additionally, the Bahamas Tourism Ministry said last year the government “will not endorse or approve any event on the islands “associated with” McFarland.

According to the site, more tickets will become available for the new festival, from prices ranging from $799 to $7,999 per ticket.
