The House of Representatives has voted to kill Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resolution to oust Speaker of the House Mike Johnson from his speaker position.
On Wednesday, the House voted to table the resolution, allowing Speaker Johnson (R-La.) to keep his role.
The final vote to dismiss the motion was 359-43.
196 Republicans voted to table the motion, while 11 voted to pass it. Four of those representatives included Greene (R-Ga.), Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) and Barry Moore (R-Ala.).
On the flipside, 163 Democrats voted to table, while 32 voted against.
Prior to the vote, when Greene initially introduced the motion to vacate, she was met with “boos” from both sides of the aisle.
“THIS is the uniparty, for the American people watching!” Greene asserted, while pointing towards those who were booing her statement.
She went on to say that Johnson should be removed since he has “not lived up to a single one” of the promises he made after being elected to the high-power position.
“By passing the Democrats’ agenda and handcuffing the Republicans’ ability and influence legislation, our elected Republican Speaker Mike Johnson has aided and abetted the Democrats and the Biden administration in destroying our country,” Greene continued.
