The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office posted a list of criminal charges against 45th president Donald Trump briefly Monday. The filing was quickly taken down, as the grand jury had not finished voting on a possible indictment.

A Fulton County grand jury began hearing from witnesses early Monday. The two-page court filing suggested that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will seek a handful of charges against the 45th president including Violation of the Georgia RICO Act, Solicitation of Violation of Oath by a Public Officer, among other things. The document was dated August 14, 2023.

Reuters initially reported the charges and then obtained the document. But a spokeswoman for Willis said the charges filed were “inaccurate.”

The news sent X, previously known as Twitter, into a frenzy, with numerous elected officials and presidential candidates calling for the case to be thrown out as a result.

“This is OUTRAGEOUS government conduct and is a very legitimate basis to deem the entire Grand Jury process tainted & corrupted,” Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) wrote. “MOTION TO DISMISS!!!”

“It’s downright pathetic that Fulton County publicly posted the indictment on its website even before the grand jury had finished convening,” Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy wrote. “Since the four prosecutions against Trump are using novel & untested legal theories, it’s fair game for him to do the same in defense: immediately file a motion to dismiss for a constitutional due process violation for publicly issuing an indictment before the grand jury had actually signed one. He should make a strong argument on these grounds & it would send a powerful message to the ever-expansive prosecutorial police state.”

“This is completely against the law,” Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) wrote. “The Fulton County DA Fani Willis MUST BE REMOVED!!!”

Willis has been conducting this investigation into Trump for two and a half years.

NOTE: The office of the Fulton County courts clerk, hours later, released a statement alleging the document was “fictitious.” But the statement failed to explain how the document made its way onto the court’s website.
